  •  QTL Experiment in Brief
Animals:Chickens were from a resource population created by crossing broiler sires, from a line divergently selected for abdominal fat, with Baier layer dams.
     Breeds associated:
    n/a
Design:Birds were genotyped for 29 microsatellite markers on chromosomes 3, 5, and 7 and analyzed for body weight and abdominal fat traits.
Analysis:Data were subjected to a model containing additive and dominant effects of a putative QTL, with sex, hatch, and family as fixed effects in the model.
    Software:JMP, CRIMAP, GridQTL
