QTL Experiment in Brief |
Animals: | The granparents were a line of White Leghorn egg laying chickens and a commercial broiler sire-line that had been genetically selected for high growth rates and breast muscle yield. |
Breeds associated:
n/a
|
Design: | Traits measured include: carcass weight, breast muscles, thighs, thigh muscles, drums, drum muscles, wings, and drum and thigh muscle. |
Analysis: | A total of 103 microsatellite markers covering 26 autosomal linkage group and teh sex chromosomes were used. A linear model for additive and dominance effects of a QTL at a given position was analysed by least squares for each trait. |
