QTL Experiment in Brief |
Animals: | Animals were Erhualian pigs. |
Breeds associated:
|
Design: | Animals were genotyped using the Illumina PorcineSNP60 BeadChip, and a selective genomic scan was performed to detect SNPs associated with litter size. A total of 27,742 SNPs were used for analysis. |
Analysis: | F(ST) was used to estimate genetic variability between groups of pigs with extreme litter size values. SNPs with the highest F(ST) values were used in association tests to confirm association with litter size. |
Software: | SAS, DMU, PLINK, GENEPOP, R software, ASReml |
