The Statistical Genetics and Genomics Group of the Department of Animal
Sciences  at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, U.S. is seeking
for a highly  motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate.

Field of work:

The work will focus on quantitative genetics and multi-omics analyses
(genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, volatilomics, and microbiomics)
of phenotypic traits of economic interest.

Responsibilities:

- Conducting field data collection
- Performing immune-related assays
- Conducting endo and ectoparasite phenotyping
- Genome-wide association analyses for performance and animal health
  traits
- Analyzing microbiome and transcriptome data
- Developing multi-omic predictions for performance and animal health
  traits
- Collaborating with undergraduate and graduate students on research
  projects
- Publishing results in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals
- Communicating results at scientific conferences and
  stakeholder-oriented meetings

Requirements:

- Master's or PhD degree in Animal Breeding/Genetics/Genomics, or a
  related field
- Strong statistical/computational background
- Experience in quantitative genetics and omics analyses
- Self-motivated and driven
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Strong publication record
- High work ethic, motivation, and creativity
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Advantageous are:

- Experience of current methods in molecular genetics (GWAS, GS, WGS,
  scRNAseq), microbiome, immunology, and bioinformatics
